RMT CALLS FURTHER STRIKE ACTION

Dear Colleague

BREAKDOWN IN INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS - RAIL GOURMET (PADDINGTON DEPOT)

First and foremost, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your colleagues for standing united throughout this dispute. The strike action you have taken to date has been solidly supported. Rail Gourmet can be in no doubt of your determination to get management to take our concerns seriously and bring this dispute to a satisfactory resolution. The three outstanding issues of dispute are as follows:

  • Payment of a Night Shift Allowance for all work between 20.00 hours and 06.00 hours.
  • Payment of a productivity bonus in recognition of the significant increase in members workload since the introduction of Great Western Railway’s new High Speed IET services.
  • Proper maintenance of the Plant and Tractor equipment at Paddington Depot.

Your union’s National Executive Committee has again considered the matter and believes that the only way to get management to find a meaningful resolution to the above three issues is by taking further strike action. Therefore, you and your colleagues are instructed to take strike action by not booking on for any shifts that commence between:

  • 00.01 Hours on Wednesday 11th March 2020 until 23.59 Hours on Friday 13th March 2020

I urge you all to continue standing strong against a company that is treating you and your colleagues with contempt. The only way to stop this mistreatment is by taking further strike action. Management need to get around the table and realise that we are determined to have our issues resolved.

UNITY IS STRENGTH

SUPPORT THE ACTION

Best wishes.
