RMT RECOGNITION – CITY CRUISES . 

As you are aware, RMT is recognised by City Cruises for Captains and Mates but in recent months we have an ever-increasing number of pier staff joining the Union. 

Your National Secretary and Lead Officer at City Cruises has today written to the company seeking recognition for those grades working on the pier.  

The company now has 10 days to respond to our request for recognition.

A unionised workplace is a strong workplace and to get organised you and your colleagues must start to discuss your immediate issues, potential solutions and identify workplace representatives who will be supported by Full Time Officers, elected Branch and Regional Officials.  Representatives will also be encouraged to undertake representative educational courses to provide a greater understanding of the role.

The National Secretary is in the process of organising an online meeting for pier staff members and it is vital at this point that every member is encouraging your colleagues that are not currently a member of the RMT to join up with immediate effect and strengthen the collective voice required within your workplace.
