As you can see this pay offer seeks to combine the existing 40 different pay rates into seven job roles, however, the company’s current proposals would have the effect of jumbling up the pay structure at DHL. The differentials between managers and their staff would be compromised, with the possibility of some staff being paid over and above the manager rate of pay. Additionally, this offer does not represent a significant wage improvement for our members based at Euston. Taking all of this into account, the union’s negotiating team are of the opinion that this offer should be rejected.

The matter has been considered by your union’s National Executive Committee (NEC) and it decided rejected the above offer. I have also been instructed to hold a ballot for industrial action of you and your colleagues to force DHL back to negotiations so they can table an improved offer which would represent a significant financial increase to your pay.

We are in the process of preparing the ballot which requires us to make sure all the workplaces and job titles of our members are as accurate as possible. I would be grateful if you could ensure your records are up to date as soon as possible so that we can get the ballot up and running. This can be done by contacting the union’s helpline on 0800 376 3706 or by emailing info@rmt.org.uk

I trust this keeps you fully advised and I will inform you of any further developments on this issue when they arise.

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
General Secretary
