RMT TO RE-BALLOT MEMBERS DUE TO ANTI-TRADE UNION LAWS

Dear Colleagues

Excessive Track Noise – London Underground

Unfortunately, during the course of the recent ballot some Jubilee Line Train Operators received ballot papers for the Central Line ballot. Because of the of the anti-trade union laws, the RMT believes that in order to ensure that members can participate in any future industrial action, it is prudent to re-ballot all members in this dispute. I apologise for the delay and share your frustration at this state of affairs; however, this is yet another example of the unfair trade union legislation undermining workplace democracy.

The issues in the dispute remain the same - management are not taking action fast enough to protect our members hearing and levels of stress and anxiety. Again - Your union is asking you to return a massive YES vote just as you did in the previous ballot to help your union keep up the fight for justice. Only by returning a massive YES vote can we heap more pressure on management over this issue. The new ballot for industrial action will open on Tuesday 3rd March 2020. Ballot papers will be sent to your home address shortly after this date and I urge you to vote YES for industrial action short of a strike when you receive your voting paper. It is imperative that you do not waste your vote.

Important Please Note:  The Scrutineer for RMT Ballots and Elections is now ‘Civica Election Services’ and not the ‘Electoral Reform Society’. Letters from Civica are not Junk Mail and should be opened.

If you have not received your ballot paper by Wednesday 11th March 2020 please contact the RMT Helpline on 0800 376 3706 and request a replacement voting paper or you can email info@rmt.org.uk. Alternatively, you may wish to contact RMT Head Office on 0207 387 4771 and ask for the Industrial Relations Department.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR VOTE - RETURN YOUR VOTING PAPER

VOTE “YES” FOR INDUSTRIAL ACTION SHORT OF A STRIKE

I will of course keep you advised of any developments in this matter when further information becomes available.

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
