RMT Update - Recognition at Loram UK LTD

 

Further to my last communication on 4^th June 2024, in which I advised that the Union received confirmation from the CAC that our application has been accepted, RMT Regional Organiser John Watson has been in ongoing discussions with Loram UK with a view to agreeing the staff covered by the Collective Bargaining Unit.

 

These discussions have proved to be difficult, with the company failing to agree to our recommendations. 

 

A final meeting was held on14^th August 2024 and despite the best efforts of your RMT negotiating team, the company were not prepared to move or negotiate on their position on who should be included in the Collective Bargaining Unit. 

 

I am therefore in the process of raising this matter through the CAC where the panel will be deciding on the grades to be included. I am awaiting a date for the hearing and will keep members advised of any progress in this matter. 

 

I will also be bringing this report to the attention of the Union’s National Executive Committee. 

 

Members should be reminded that this does not affect the RMT recognition agreement in place with Loram.
