RMT CALLS STRIKE ACTION

Dear Colleague

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITY OF THE GUARD, BARRHEAD & EAST KILBRIDE ROUTE – SCOTRAIL TRAINS LTD

Firstly, on behalf of myself and the union’s National Executive Committee, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you and your colleagues for well and truly smashing the thresholds imposed by the anti-trade union laws.

The union’s National Executive Committee has now considered the matter and has taken the decision to call on all our Scotrail Conductor grade members located at Ayr, Dumfries, Glasgow Central and Stranraer to take strike action.

Therefore, you and your colleagues are instructed not to book on for any shifts that commence between:

  • 00.01 hours on Saturday 18th May 2024 until 23.59 hours on Sunday 19th May 2024
  • 00.01 hours on Saturday 25th May 2024 until 23.59 hours on Sunday 26th May 2024
  • 00.01 hours on Saturday 1st June 2024 until 23.59 hours on Sunday 2nd June 2024

I ask you all to show your support and stand shoulder to shoulder during the days of industrial action, to ensure that a Guard with full safety critical competencies remains on every train, with full responsibility for dispatch and opening and closing the doors.

I trust this keeps you fully advised on the matter and I will, of course, update you on any further developments.

UNITY IS STRENGTH

SUPPORT THE INDUSTRIAL ACTION

Yours sincerely

Michael Lynch
