TO ALL CONDUCTORS AND SENIOR CONDUCTORS AT GREATER ANGLIA
DON’T LET MANAGEMENT WIN!
MAKE SURE YOU USE YOUR VOTE! – VOTE ‘YES’ TO BOTH QUESTIONS
ROLE OF THE GUARD & EXTENSION OF DOO – GREATER ANGLIA
I write further to my previous letter dated 9th March 2018, in relation to the above matter and in addition to my previous letters regarding the dishonourable attempt to mislead you and your colleagues.
You will have no doubt already received the company’s latest propaganda and management nonsense regarding the dispute. It is utterly disgraceful and shameful that Greater Anglia can be so disingenuous and deceitful in their attempt to undermine this dispute and to try and intimidate you and your colleagues into believing their ambiguous statements. The fact is that Greater Anglia has provided no guarantees to the vital Safety Critical Role of the Guard. There is no doubt that Greater Anglia have shown nothing but contempt for you and your colleagues and if they valued the conductor as much as they say, they would get around the table and provide the guarantees that we want.
Therefore, we have no other choice but to send this company a clear message that we will not allow them to intimidate and mislead us through their nonsensical propaganda. We will not allow them to bulldoze through their plans to extend DOO. We are serious about the Safety Critical Role of the Guard and that we will do everything possible to ensure that the company start taking safety seriously and put passengers and staff before their profits.
Consequently, I urge you and your colleagues to ensure we receive a massive ‘YES’ vote in this re-ballot. We can only achieve our aims and send Greater Anglia a crystal clear message by returning an overwhelming ‘YES’ vote. Therefore, you and your colleagues need to ensure you send your voting papers back.
Furthermore, If you have not already received a ballot paper then please contact the RMT Freephone Helpline urgently on 0800 376 3706 or the RMT Switch board on 020 7387 4771 and ask for the industrial relations department, where a replacement ballot paper will be sent to you by first class post. Additionally, if you are aware of a colleague who has not received their ballot paper, ask them to call on one of the above numbers to update their details to receive a replacement ballot paper.
