DO NOT WASTE YOUR VOTE – RETURN YOUR VOTING PAPER

Dear Colleague,

ROLE OF THE GUARD & EXTENSION OF DOO – ARRIVA RAIL NORTH

I write further to my letter dated 17th February 2017, in which I advised you that you and your colleagues are being balloted for strike action and industrial action short of a strike against the company’s lack of commitments and blatant refusal to discuss the safety critical role of the guard.

Ballot papers will have now been sent out to your home addresses and will need to be returned before the closing date of First Post, Tuesday 28th February 2017.

It is imperative that you use your vote to ensure your voices are heard loud and clear on this matter. I urge you all to vote ‘Yes’ to both questions and ensure that we get a massive turnout in this ballot. We must send management and Arriva Rail North a clear and concrete message that we will not tolerate their disregard for passenger safety, job security or the dilution of the vital safety critical role of the guard.

If you have not received a ballot paper by Thursday 23rd February 2017 please contact the RMT Freephone Helpline urgently on 0800 376 3706 and a replacement ballot paper will be sent to you by first class post. Additionally, if you are aware of a colleague who has not received their ballot paper, ask them to call the Freephone Helpline to update their details and to receive a replacement ballot paper.

MAKE SURE YOU VOTE
VOTE ‘YES’ FOR STRIKE ACTION
VOTE ‘YES’ FOR ACTION SHORT OF A STRIKE
DO NOT WASTE YOUR VOTE – RETURN YOUR VOTING PAPER

Yours sincerely
