ROLE OF THE GUARD & EXTENSION OF DOO – GREATER ANGLIA

Our Ref: BR2/0146

7th September 2017

Dear Colleague,

LAST CHANCE TO VOTE! - DO NOT WASTE IT
RETURN YOUR VOTING PAPER BY TUESDAY 12TH SEPTEMBER

ROLE OF THE GUARD & EXTENSION OF DOO – GREATER ANGLIA

Further to my previous correspondence with regards to the above and where I informed you that you and your colleagues must stand up against the company’s demand to push through DOO and their clear refusal to discuss the safety critical role of the guard.

It is imperative that we get a massive return in the ballot. Do not to waste your vote. This is your last chance to defend the safety critical role of the guard. I urge you all to vote ‘YES’ for strike action and ‘YES’ for action short of a strike.

We must send Greater Anglia a clear message that we will not allow them to destroy you and your colleague’s jobs and threaten passenger safety. There is no doubt that you and your colleagues need to vote YES to both questions in the ballot for industrial action. It is crucial that you return your voting paper by Tuesday 12th September 2017.

If you have not already received your ballot paper, then today and tomorrow is your last chance for a replacement to be sent to your home address. You must urgently contact the RMT Freephone Helpline on 0800 376 3706 or the RMT Switchboard on 020 7387 4771 and a replacement ballot paper will be sent to you by first class post. Additionally, if you are aware of a colleague who has not received their ballot paper, ask them to call the Freephone Helpline or the Switchboard to update their details and to receive a replacement ballot paper.

MAKE SURE YOU VOTE
VOTE ‘YES’ FOR STRIKE ACTION
VOTE ‘YES’ FOR ACTION SHORT OF A STRIKE
DO NOT WASTE YOUR VOTE – THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE

Yours sincerely

General Secretary
