ROLE OF THE GUARD & EXTENSION OF DOO - SOUTH WESTERN RAILWAY

 

Further to discussions that have taken place with the company in relation to 701 units and the future role of the guard on the SWR network, a meeting has taken place with the RMT Union’s National Executive Committee, Lead Officer and SWR representatives to discuss the outstanding issues relating to this matter.

 

The Union’s National Executive Committee has considered the matter and has instructed me to write to the company to request that a meeting takes place between our negotiation team and SWR’s Operational Standards Management to discuss the outcome of this meeting.

 

The NEC has also reiterated your Union’s position that we will not allow for different wording to be used in the principles document that the company distribute to RMT members.

 

I am currently making arrangements for the meeting to take place and I will write to members following the outcome of the meeting.
