Dear Colleague

Further to my letter dated the 31st July 2019 with regards to the above dispute and where I notified you of the forthcoming dates of strike action. I can now advise you that the Regional Organiser has been in recent discussions with your Guards Company Council Representatives and they have requested further industrial action in the form of a ban on Rest Day Working.

Therefore, the union’s National Executive Committee has again considered the matter and all Merseyrail Guard, Guard Standards Managers and Train Driver members are instructed not to work any Rest Days from week commencing Sunday 25th August 2019 until further notice.

As previously notified, all Guard, Guard Standards Managers and Train Driver members are instructed not to book on for any Shifts that commence between: -

◦00.01 hours until 23.59 hours on Saturday 24th August 2019

◦00.01 hours until 23.59 hours on Tuesday 3rd September 2019

◦00.01 hours until 23.59 hours on Thursday 5th September 2019 ◦00.01 hours until 23.59 hours on Monday 30th September 2019

◦00.01 hours until 23.59 hours on Wednesday 2nd October 2019

◦00.01 hours until 23.59 hours on Friday 4th October 2019

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your colleagues for the continued support you have shown throughout this long and difficult dispute. I urge you all to stand united and support the forthcoming days of industrial action in defence of the role of the Guard. Management must be left in no doubt that the Guard should be responsible for the safe dispatch of all trains.

UNITY IS STRENGTH - SUPPORT THE INDUSTRIAL ACTION

Best wishes.
