Dear RMT Member,
ROSTERING REVIEW, STATIONS AND RETAIL – AVANTI WEST COAST
A meeting has been held between your Company Council Representatives, the RMT Union’s National Executive Committee, Lead Officer and Assistant General Secretary to discuss the recent proposals put forward by the company in relation to review of station rosters.
During discussions it became clear that the précis produced by the company is inadequate, lacking several required details and scope.
Therefore, your Union’s NEC has instructed me to write to the company rejecting the précis in its current format. I will also be asking Avanti West Coast (AWC) to provide staffing establishment levels at the point of TUPE transfer from Virgin Trains to AWC, to evaluate the current proposed staffing levels and the agreed establishment when Avanti were awarded the contract.
Furthermore, I will be advising the company that a new précis should be produced by 31st October 2024 to address the concerns of fixed term contracts to be made permanent and all vacancies to be filled.
Your Union’s NEC has also instructed me to advise the company that should the above request not be carried out then a ballot for industrial action will commence.
