PLEASE FIND A REPLACEMENT LETTER ON THE ISSUES.

22nd January 2021

Dear Colleague,

RPI’S MESS ROOM, SURREY QUAYS – ARRIVA RAIL LONDON

I am disappointed to have received correspondence from our representatives that Arriva Rail London has failed to consult the union on an issue that deeply impacts you and your colleagues.

The company has exacerbated the situation with veiled secrecy by not sharing the full details or providing the length of time you and your colleagues will have to use an alternative mess room. This issue could have easily been resolved if proper consultation had taken place.

The National Executive Committee has considered this matter and is appalled at the way our members are being treated. Therefore, I have been instructed to prepare a ballot matrix of all affected members. The company has been advised that we are now in dispute over this issue.

In order to ensure a swift ballot - should the need for one arise - I urge you to confirm your membership details are correct. If your job title, address or workplace has recently changed, then please contact the RMT Helpline by Email at info@rmt.org.uk; Alternatively, you can call the RMT Freephone Helpline number on 0800 376 3706. Additionally, if you know a colleague who has recently moved or changed their employment please ask them to contact the union on one of the above methods.

I trust this keeps you fully advised and I will write to you again once I have further information.

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
General Secretary
