SKILLED MAINTAINER REGRADE 4 TO 7 – NEXUS (TYNE & WEAR METRO)
Following the close of the ballot today, the National Executive Committee has considered this matter and congratulated members on again returning a magnificent yes vote to continue to take industrial action. The instruction for all Nexus Skilled Maintainer, Electrical/Mechanical Grade 4 members to work to and abide by the criterion of your original Job Description will therefore continue uninterrupted (from 00:01 hours on Thursday 5th September 2019) until further notice.
For your ease of reference I have enclosed a copy of the Skilled Maintainer Job Description and I would remind all our affected members to work solely to the content of your job specification.
The NEC has also consulted with your RMT Lead Officer and Representatives over the time it is taking for the company to produce and agree an assessment process towards a regarding and has taken the decision to now call strike action and instruct all Nexus Skilled Maintainer, Electrical/Mechanical Grade 4 members to NOT BOOK ON FOR SHIFTS THAT COMMENCE BETWEEN:-
• 21:00 hours on Friday 6th September 2019 and 20:59 hours on Sunday 8th September 2019.
NB: The industrial action short of a strike to work to and abide by the criterion of your original job description is suspended for the duration of the strike but will commence again immediately afterwards from 21:00 hours on Sunday 8th September 2019.
I urge you all to stand firm together in pursuit of a fair re-grade and rightful parity with your colleagues to recognise your skills and expertise. We must keep up the pressure on the company to see this matter resolved without delay.
