SUSPENSION OF RMT REPRESENTATIVES, FRATTON – SOUTH WESTERN RAILWAY

Our Ref: BR2/14/2

BALLOT PAPERS HAVE BEEN DISPATCHED!

RETURN YOUR BALLOT PAPER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

WHEN YOU RECEIVE YOUR PAPER MAKE SURE YOU VOTE ‘YES’ TO BOTH QUESTIONS!

Dear Colleague,

SUSPENSION OF RMT REPRESENTATIVES, FRATTON – SOUTH WESTERN RAILWAY

Voting papers for the ballot defending our representatives who have wrongly been suspended by SWR will shortly be arriving. The mismanagement and ill-treatment of our colleagues sends worrying signs to all members of SWR. It is becoming more and more evident that SWR lack the respect and compassion for its staff and are more than happy to act in a callous and draconian way.

Therefore, we must take a stand and make it clear that we will not allow our representatives or any staff in the future to be treated this way. We will not allow SWR to dictate who represents us and we will do everything we can to now defend our colleagues.

As I am sure you are all too aware, it is vital that we achieve the highest possible turnout and the highest possible vote saying ‘YES’ for action, as the government's very stringent anti-union laws means that every vote counts.

Therefore, if you have not yet returned your voting paper, then please do so as a matter of urgency as the ballot closes on Thursday 4th June 2020. If you have not yet received your voting paper by, Thursday 21st May 2020 then please contact the RMT Helpline by Email at info@rmt.org.uk. Alternatively, you can call the RMT Freephone Helpline number on 0800 376 3706, the RMT switchboard on 0207 387 4771 and ask to speak to the Industrial Relations Department where they will arrange for a replacement ballot paper to be sent. If you are aware of a colleague who has not received their paper or has recently moved address or changed their workplace/job title then ask them to contact their union on one of the above contact methods.

Your union and, more importantly, your colleagues need you to return a huge ‘YES’ vote to defend our representatives and ensure SWR does not win.

Important Please Note:  The Scrutineer for RMT Ballots and Elections is now 'Civica Election Services' and not the 'Electoral Reform Society'. Letters from Civica are not Junk Mail and should be opened.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR VOTE

Yours sincerely
