INDUSTRIAL ACTION SUSPENDED - MEMBERS INSTRUCTED TO WORK NORMALLY
14th August 2018
Temporary Closure of Derby Station, Payment of Staff, Senior Conductors – Cross Country Trains
I am writing further to my previous letter in relation to the above matter. As you are aware this dispute was over the detrimental treatment of you and your colleagues during the Derby Blockade.
I can now advise that an offer has been received from the company. Your Lead Officer and company council have been in a number of meetings and have been able to negotiate a proposal that they believe is acceptable. The union’s negotiating team believe that this offer would resolve the dispute and allow our members to enjoy enhanced arrangements during the blockade.
The National Executive Committee has considered this matter and believes that this offer should be put out to a referendum vote with the recommendation to accept. Additionally, the NEC has suspended the current industrial action due to take place tomorrow (Wednesday 15th August 2018). Therefore, the rest day working ban and overtime ban (including Sundays) is suspended, and you and your colleagues are instructed to work normally.
I will write to you all again shortly with further details surrounding the referendum, which will be sent out this week.
