TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF DERBY STATION, PAYMENT OF STAFF, SERVICE STAFF – CROSS COUNTRY TRAINS
I am writing further to my previous correspondence on the above matter. As you are aware, the ballot for industrial action on this issue was due to commence today. The company had agreed enhanced rest day working and payments during the Derby Blockade for certain grades but at the detriment to you and your colleagues.
I can now advise that after strong representation from our Lead Officer and union representatives, the company has offered the following:-
“On these rest days, the following material will be briefed:-
• Safety Briefing.
• First Class Host Training for all Grades.
• ‘2xcd’ training (apart from RSS/RPI grades which will received revenue workshop training)
The above rest days will be calculated at the average turn length for that centre (RSM/FCH). All other grades to be based on 8hrs. This agreement is to run until 31st January 2019.”
This offer was considered and supported by our representatives as it meant that members could potentially receive an extra £250 - £350 if these proposals are accepted. The National Executive Committee has considered this matter and instructed me to inform the company that we accept their proposals. Additionally, the NEC has advised me to cancel the ballot for industrial action and to inform the company that we are no longer in dispute over these issues.
I would like to congratulate you and your colleagues for your tremendous support and clear solidarity during this dispute. I am sure that the strength of feeling you and your colleagues demonstrated during this dispute has forced the company into providing these proposal.
