Dear Colleague

TUPE TRANSFER, HULL TRAINS CUSTOMER SERVICES ADVISOR TEAM TO FIRST CUSTOMER CONTACT CENTRE

I write with regards to the above matter and to inform you that the RMT has gone into dispute with First Hull Trains over the company’s plans to transfer our Customer Services Advisor members from Hull Call Centre to FCC in Sheffield. The RMT believes that the terms of the transfer First Hull Trains has set are totally unreasonable and wholly unacceptable.

Furthermore, the company has failed to enter into genuine and meaningful consultations with your Union Representatives, failed to provide all relevant information related to the proposed transfer and failed to provide any guarantee on rosters or staff travel to ensure you and your colleagues are not disadvantaged.

The union’s National Executive Committee has considered the matter and is extremely frustrated that no meaningful progress has been made in relation to the consultations. Therefore, the Executive Committee has taken the decision to ballot you and your colleagues for industrial action at the earliest opportunity.

To help us ensure a swift ballot for industrial action I ask that you check your membership details are up-to-date. If your job title, workplace or home address has recently changed, please contact the RMT Helpline by Email at info@rmt.org.uk. Alternatively, you can call the RMT Helpline on 0800 376 3706 or the RMT switchboard on 0207 387 4771 and ask to speak to the Industrial Relations Department. Additionally, if you know of a colleague who has moved or changed jobs please ask them to contact the Union so that we can update their membership records accordingly.

I trust this keeps you fully advised on the matter and I will, of course, update you on any further developments.

Best wishes.

Mick Cash
