UNION CALLS OVERTIME AND REST DAY WORKING BAN!

Our Ref: BR2/9/4

14th November 2018

Dear Colleague,

UNION CALLS OVERTIME AND REST DAY WORKING BAN!

REST DAY WORKING DYNAMIC PAYMENTS – SCOTRAIL

I am writing in relation to the above matter and following the referendum of you and your colleagues on dynamic rest day working payments. The referendum has now closed and the results are as follows:-

Question: Are you prepared to accept the company’s offer?

Papers Returned 1004
Voting YES 390
Voting NO 612
Spoilt Papers 2

The National Executive Committee has considered this matter and instructed me to inform the company that we reject their offer. In addition the NEC has taken the decision to call further industrial action.

Therefore, Members are instructed not to volunteer to undertake any overtime and rest day working with effect from 0001 hours Wednesday 28th November 2018 until further notice.

Please note - the above instructions do not apply to Traincare Grades C1.1, C2, C2.1, C2.2 and C2.3 who were balloted separately on this issue.

Important Note on Sundays

Where Sundays are not part of your working week, and therefore classed as overtime, you should not volunteer to work these shifts

Where Sundays are part of your working week, you must continue to work these shifts as rostered.

I urge members to strongly support this action and show Scotrail we are united and force them to provide a deal that is suitable to all grades and members.

SUPPORT THE ACTION
UNITY IS STRENGTH

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
General Secretary
