VOLUNTARY REDUNDANCY, REVENUE PROTECTION EAST REGION – GREAT WESTERN RAILWAY
Further to my letter dated the 27th March 2018 with regards to the above matter and where I informed you that the RMT was seeking urgent talks with Great Western Railway to discuss our concerns over the company’s plans to offer voluntary redundancies within the Revenue Protection grades in the East Region.
I can now advise you that an On-Train Divisional Council meeting has been held and the company has confirmed the following:
• GWR are not in any form of financial difficulty.
• GWR have no plans to impose Compulsory Redundancies should the Voluntary Redundancy Scheme fail to attract sufficient number of volunteers.
In addition to the above, I can also inform you that GWR has denied the allegations that they have placed staff under any form of pressure in relation to the Voluntary Redundancy Scheme.
A copy of the Minutes from the GWR Revenue Protection Voluntary Redundancy Scheme meeting held on Monday 12th March 2018 can be found HERE
I trust this updates you on the situation and I will of course, keep you fully advised on any further developments.
