VOLUNTEERING POLICY – NEXUS (TYNE & WEAR METRO)
As you may be aware, during the annual pay negotiations in 2017, NEXUS committed to producing a Volunteering Policy for our members. The policy would entitle employees one day per annum paid release to undertake work, assistance or support on behalf of a recognised charity.
Your Union Representatives entered into extensive negotiations with NEXUS and after strong representation from your union, a policy has been formulated. The Union’s National Executive Committee has considered the proposals and I have been instructed to inform the company of our acceptance of the agreement.
Therefore, I have informed NEXUS that the RMT fully endorse and accept the proposals and that the Volunteering Policy should be introduced accordingly.
