WALKING TIME, TRAIN MANAGERS, EDINBURGH WAVERLEY – CROSS COUNTRY
Further to my letter dated the 16th September 2019 with regards to the above matter and where I notified you of the results in the ballot for industrial action. I now write to inform you that the Lead Officer and your Company Council Representatives have attended an Avoidance of Disputes meeting with Cross Country in the hope of reaching a satisfactory agreement on the walking time for our Train Manager members located at Edinburgh Waverley.
Following discussions with management, I am pleased to inform you that the company has proposed the following offer:
“From the December 2019 timetable Edinburgh Train Managers walking time would become 9 minutes and gate line passes would be provided.”
The Lead Officer and your Company Council Representatives have indicated that they are satisfied with this outcome and agreement has been reached. Your union’s National Executive Committee has recently considered the matter and notes the improved offer to increase the walking time to 9 minutes and accepts the proposed agreement. Therefore, I have notified Cross Country that a dispute situation no longer exists between our two organisations.
On behalf of myself and the Executive Committee, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our Senior Union Representatives for bringing this matter to a satisfactory conclusion.
I trust this keeps you fully advised on the matter.
