Dear colleague

You and your colleagues delivered an overwhelming YES vote in the ballot for strike action and action short of a strike in the ballot which concluded on 17th December 2019.

Since then, there have been two sessions held at conciliation service ACAS in order to find a resolution to this dispute but, as your Regional Organiser has reported, during these discussions “the company are only half focused and sleepwalking.”

This failure of management to seriously address the concerns of you and your colleagues over this matter was raised at a meeting of the Bakerloo Line Branch this week and, after consulting rank and file members, the branch requested two sets of strike action. This call has been endorsed by your National Executive Committee and you are therefore instructed not to book on for shifts which commence between:

12.00 hours on Friday 21st February 2020 and 11.59 hours on Saturday 22nd February 2020

12.00 hours on Sunday 23rd February 2020 and 11.59 hours on Monday 24th February 2020

This action has been called as you and your colleagues are not prepared to accept these unworkable timetables and your NEC and I commend you for taking such a stance and for your commitment to the operation of a safe railway.

You and your colleagues should not be forced to work overtime, be denied toilet breaks and face unfair disciplinary action in relations to SPADS, which can occur as a result of management pressure. I am sure therefore you will all take part in this strike action to force management to address such concerns.

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
General Secretary
