RMT Press Office:

Ninth round of Tube pay talks results in derisory improvement to LU offer as RMT finalises ballot preparations

Tube union RMT said today that it was angry and frustrated after the ninth round of pay talks with LU yesterday resulted in just a 0.1% increase on the original offer as the company stand accused of playing for time instead of making serious progress towards an agreement.

General Secretary Mick Cash said:

"RMT is angry and frustrated at what we can only describe as a shambolic approach to these crucial pay talks. LU might not be taking this situation seriously but we are certainly are and we will be finalising our plans for a ballot across the combine.

"We have no idea who is pulling the strings but if those directing operations think that ‎they can kick the can down the road on tube worker pay then they should think again."
