RE-GRADING, MAINTENANCE DEPOT DRIVERS, HEATON & NEVILLE HILL TRAINCARE DEPOTS – NORTHERN RAIL

Our Ref: BR2/2/2
1st July 2014

Dear Colleagues

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
ALL STRIKE ACTION IS SUSPENDED

RE-GRADING, MAINTENANCE DEPOT DRIVERS, HEATON & NEVILLE HILL TRAINCARE DEPOTS – NORTHERN RAIL

Further to previous correspondence in relation to the above matter, I can report that after long and protracted negotiations the union has received a formal offer from the company in respect of your re-grading claim. Having considered this matter, the union’s executive committee has decided to suspend the strike action which was due to commence on Friday 4th July 2014 and conduct an immediate referendum on the company’s proposals.

Therefore the strike action has been suspended and you are instructed to work as normal on 4th 5th 6th 7th and 8th July 2014.

After careful consideration, the union’s executive committee are of the opinion that the company’s latest offer still does not meet with the aspirations of our members at Heaton and Neville Hill. Therefore the union’s executive committee is strongly recommending that you vote no to reject the company’s proposals in the forthcoming referendum.

You will soon be receiving your voting paper, along with full details of the company’s offer and I urge you all to vote NO to reject the company’s offer.

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
Acting General Secretary
