RMT Press Office:
Rail union, RMT has suspended strikes on Eurostar catering after accepting a new pay offer from Rail Gourmet which runs the contract.
RMT members in Rail Gourmet will now get a 7.6% uplift in pay which has only come about due to strike action and strong negotiating stances from union reps and officers.
The union has pursued active discussions with Rail Gourmet management to address significant disparities in pay and working conditions.
RMT general secretary Mick Lynch said: "This is a huge success for our Rail Gourmet members who are significantly underpaid compared to their counterparts directly employed by Eurostar.
"They have shown tremendous resolve and determination to get a new offer through industrial action and a strong desire to be heard.
"There was a time when Rail Gourmet refused to even speak to RMT.
"Now that has changed, and we will continue to push for not only good pay and conditions for our members but insourcing of catering and other facilities management jobs across the railway."
