ADDITIONAL STRIKE ACTION
Referring to my previous correspondence dated 1st August 2014 where I advised you of the strike action due to take place on 8th August 2014, I write to inform you that your union’s executive committee has re-considered the matter once more and it has instructed that the following additional strike action is to take place.
Members are instructed not to book on for any shifts commencing between:-
• 00:01 hours on Friday 15th August 2014 and 23:59 on Saturday 16th August 2014.
We need to keep the pressure on management so that they will come to realise that we are not going to go away and that everyone is steadfast in fighting for a pay rise with the aspiration to achieve a Living Wage for all on this contract.
This situation can no longer be tolerated, your union has tried to resolve this dispute on many occasions only to find that the Company’s stonewalling attitude brings negotiations grinding to a halt. Now is the time to say enough is enough. Join your colleagues on the picket lines and shout out against this avaricious and grasping company whose only concern is their profits and how much more they can make by not awarding any pay rise to those who make these profits possible
I urge you to continue your magnificent support for your union and solidarity with your colleagues in this dispute. I will, of course, keep you fully advised on any further developments.
