Dear colleague,

Rates of Pay & Conditions of Service 2014 – Freightliner

I refer to my previous correspondence dated 18th September 2014 where I advised you that the dispute over your pay is still live and that your union had rejected the company’s offer of 3%.

Matters have moved on since then and your negotiating team attended a meeting on 22nd September where the company tabled the following offer:-

•    Effective 1st April 2014 grade rates are increased by 3.5% across all salaried and wages grade staff positions with the April anniversary. Salaries to be backdated where appropriate. This is a one-year offer.

•    There are no other terms and conditions attached and all previously mentioned conditions or offers are withdrawn.

The offer has been considered by your union’s Executive Committee and it has instructed me to inform the company of our acceptance of the offer. The company has been informed and I have requested that the increase and the back monies are paid at the earliest opportunity.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you on your steely determination to secure a pay offer that is equal to that accepted by other grades. It goes to show that if we all stand together in unity, we can win.
