Rates of Pay & Conditions of Service 2014 – Northern Rail
In line with Union Policy, a pay claim for an increase in pay and improved terms and conditions has been submitted. Negotiations have taken some considerable time and finally an offer has been tabled which is as follows:-
• A no-strings rise of 2.7% or £450 (whichever is greater) effective from 6th April 2014.
• A no-strings rise of 2.5% or £400 (whichever is greater) effective from 5th April 2015.
The offer has been considered by your union’s Executive Committee and it has come to the conclusion that Year One is possibly suitable in that it is above the current rate of RPI, there are no strings and the increase will be backdated. However, Year Two offers 2.5% but there is no offer of fresh talks should there be an hike in RPI that exceeds 2.5%.
The Executive Committee has instructed that your Regional Organiser seeks further talks in a bid for improvements to this current offer and I will keep you advised of further developments.
