Dear Colleague
RATES OF PAY & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2015 – FREIGHTLINER LTD
As you may be aware, your Senior Union Representatives have been in discussions with Freightliner management with regards to the company’s recent 3 year pay offer, which is as follows:
Year 1 April 2015 2.75%
Year 2 April 2016 2% or RPI (the greater of)
Year 3 April 2017 2% or RPI (the greater of)
In accordance with the above, these increases will be on basic rate of pay and allowance from the 1st April in each documented year.
The matter has been considered by your union’s Executive Committee who notes that the offer does not meet our member’s aspirations. Therefore, the union has taken the decision to reject the offer in full and commence a ballot for industrial action of all our affected Freightliner members. Following the union’s rejection of the offer, an urgent meeting was held and during negotiations with management, the company indicated that a new improved revised pay offer will be forthcoming.
I can now advise you that your Senior Union Representatives will be meeting with Freightliner management on Tuesday 14th July 2015 where a revised pay offer will be tabled and discussed and the ballot for industrial action has been placed on hold, pending the outcome of this meeting.
I will, of course, keep you fully advised on any further developments.
Best wishes.
Mick Cash
General Secretary
