Rates of Pay & Conditions of Service 2015 – Freightliner Railport

STRIKE ACTION CALLED

Referring to my previous correspondence where I advised you of the outstanding result of the ballot, I write to advise you that the matter has been the subject of a meeting at RMT Head office between your representatives and the Executive Committee.

Thanks to you and your colleagues handing your union a huge mandate for industrial action, the Executive Committee is instructing you to take the following action:-

Members are instructed not to book on for any shifts that commence between:-

•    00:01 hours on Thursday 22nd October 2015 until 23:59 hours on Friday 23rd October 2015.

It is abundantly clear that the Company’s offer simply isn’t good enough and we demand nothing less than a substantial improvement and parity with other grades. The whole point of this dispute is that your union demands equality and fair treatment to all whatever your job is and no two-tier workforce.

The solidarity and determination of you and your colleagues in the dispute has been incredible and I urge you to keep this up and stand shoulder to shoulder on the days of action. Included with this letter is a poster and I would be grateful if you could take it to your workplace and pass it onto any non-members and encourage them to join RMT and support the action.
