Redundancies – Babcock Rail

17 August 2017

Our Ref: BR4/16/3

Dear colleague

REDUNDANCIES – BABCOCK RAIL

Your union has balloted members at Bristol, Eastleigh and Newport depots in protest at the depot closures and compulsory redundancies.

The decision by the company to continue with its plans is totally illogical as we all know that the work is still there but will be carried out by agency staff.

It is therefore essential that we see a high turnout of votes and a large majority voting YES to get management to think again and reverse their decision.

If you have not received your ballot paper, or know of a colleague who has not received it, please call us on 0800 376 3706 or e-mail info@rmt.org.uk as soon as possible. It is imperative that all members vote in the ballot.

I urge you not to waste your vote and to vote 'YES' for strike action and 'YES' for action short of a strike.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR VOTE - RETURN YOUR VOTING PAPER
VOTE ‘YES’ FOR STRIKE ACTION &
‘YES’ FOR INDUSTRIAL ACTION SHORT OF A STRIKE

I will keep you advised of all further developments.

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
General Secretary
