Dear Colleague

Reorganisation and Redundancies – Heathrow Express

Further to my letter dated the 1st October 2014 in which I informed you that following further negotiations, the company tabled an offer which addresses various parts of the current dispute. I can now report that I have received further clarification from management on the details of the offer, which are as follows:-

•    Heathrow Express has agreed to establish a working sub-group with a view to reaching an agreement on the future methodology of Driver despatch.
•    With regards to the rostering issues, it has been confirmed that the current roster is only an interim roster, which was established to accommodate the 19 CSA staff coming in from the Connect service. A new roster will be negotiated in January 2015.
•    Additionally, the company has agreed to re-enter into negotiations with RMT over the issue of shift swaps, however this will only take place once the dispute has been resolved.

It is the view of the union’s negotiating team that this offer represents the best and possibly only way to resolve the current dispute. It should also be noted that the Drivers pay has already been concluded. Therefore, after careful consideration, your union’s Executive Committee has decided to conduct a referendum on this offer. However, I must make it clear to you that a rejection of this offer will automatically lead to further industrial action.

For your ease of reference, I herewith enclose a copy of the offer from the company together with your voting paper. Please complete your voting paper and return it in the freepost envelope provided no later than First Post on Monday 3rd November 2014. Once again, thank you for your support and I appreciate you taking the time to read this letter.

MAKE SURE YOU USE YOUR VOTE
Best wishes.
