RMT accepts Merseyrail invite to talks without preconditions

17 March 2017

RMT Press Office:

RMT negotiators will meet Merseyrail on Monday for exploratory talks, without preconditions, aimed at ending the dispute over the safety role of guards on the company’s planned new rolling stock.

The talks follow RMT’s 100 per cent solid strike on Monday (March 13)

General Secretary Mick Cash said:

“RMT has said from the start that the union is ready for talks with the company over the safe operation of the new Mersyrail fleet, and our lead officer and guards company council will be attending talks on Monday.”
