Maritime union, RMT is deeply saddened to learn of the loss of one of our Royal Fleet Auxiliary members who was reported missing while serving onboard the RFA Tidesurge.
The vessel was operating in the Irish Sea when the incident occurred.
RMT General Secretary Eddie Dempsey said:
“We are all deeply saddened to learn of the loss of a seafarer and union member on the RFA Tidesurge.
"The entire union expresses its heartfelt condolences to the crew member's family, work colleagues and friends at this most difficult time.
"We know what a tight knit community the Royal Fleet Auxiliary is and the affect this will have on others in the service.
"All of you are in our thoughts following this awful event."
