BULLYING AND HARASSMENT, COATBRIDGE – FREIGHTLINER

Our Ref: BR3/4/8

26th May 2017

TO ALL FREIGHTLINER MEMBERS AT COATBRIDGE

Dear Colleague

RMT IS BALLOTING ALL COATBRIDGE MEMBERS!

BULLYING AND HARASSMENT, COATBRIDGE – FREIGHTLINER

Further to my letter of 9th May 2017 your union has raised our serious concerns over recent and historical allegations of bullying, threatening and aggressive behaviour by a Coatbridge manager towards staff. The Regional Organiser has met with the company at an Avoidance of Disputes meeting on 17th May 2017 where we raised our concerns. This meeting failed to address our concerns and appallingly we were advised that the said manager would be allowed to return to Coatbridge after the investigation. This is totally unacceptable and shows nothing but contempt for our genuine concerns for the safety and welfare of members at the terminal. We have demanded the manager is removed with immediate effect.

Freightliner has completely failed to address this vital issue so we have no alternative but to ballot all members at Coatbridge for strike action and industrial action short of a strike. Ballot papers will be sent to your home addresses from Tuesday 30th May 2017 and voting will close on Tuesday 13th June 2017.

If you or any of your colleagues haven’t received voting papers by Wednesday 7th June 2017 please contact the helpline on 0800 376 3706 or info@rmt.org.uk and one will be sent out to you immediately first class.

I urge you all to vote strongly in favour of action as threatening and intimidating behaviour cannot and must not be tolerated. Freightliner must be sent a clear message that we won’t allow them to stick their heads in the sand and must address this disgraceful situation now!

VOTE ‘YES’ FOR ACTION

UNITY IS STRENGTH

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash

General Secretary
