RMT London Overground Protest to take place on Monday 28 June

23 June 2021

RMT Press Office:

RAIL UNION RMT is organising a protest next Monday over a number of issues affecting RMT members on the London Overground.

The socially distanced protest will take place on Monday 28th June between 15:30 – 18:00 outside the Arriva Rail London head office, Overground House, 125 Finchley Road, Swiss Cottage, London NW3 6HY.

The issues are:

• Arriva Rail London and Carlisle Support Services' (CSS) refusal to TUPE transfer Travel Safe Officers, currently employed by STM, onto the CSS contract following Arriva Rail London's decision to terminate the STM contract.
• CSS's poor pay offer for its cleaning and Revenue Security Officers workers employed on the London Overground.
• Breach of agreements by Arriva Rail London, including the longstanding failure to fill vacancies permanently and the changing of rosters without negotiations.

RMT General Secretary Mick Lynch said:

“Our members are protesting to send a strong message to Arriva Rail London that these practices will not be tolerated and to demand justice and fairness for all workers employed on the London Overground.

“These workers have been on the frontline throughout the pandemic and this needs to be recognised.”
