Southern slams the door on offer to suspend strike and hold urgent talks without pre-conditions
RMT General Secretary Mick Cash said;
"Southern Rail are taking their passengers and staff for a bunch of mugs by slamming the door on an offer of talks without any pre conditions which would have led to a suspension of the current action for the rest of this week.
"Their position is that we can discuss anything we like as long as it's only what they want to discuss. That makes a mockery of the negotiation process and proves that they have no intention of ending this dispute regardless of the cost. The fingerprints of DfT rail boss Peter "Punch Up" Wilkinson and the Government are all over this one."
