RATES OF PAY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2015 – NETWORK RAIL

Our Ref BR6/0001

17th March 2015

Dear Colleagues

RMT PAY REFERENDUM – DON’T FORGET TO VOTE!

RATES OF PAY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2015 – NETWORK RAIL

There is now just one week left until the referendum closes so if you haven’t voted yet, now is your last chance to have your voice heard. We are recommending members vote NO to reject the proposals.

The referendum concerns the current four year pay offer Network Rail has tabled for its for Operations, Maintenance, Customer Services and Bands 5 to 8 staff. They propose a pay freeze for the first year and inflation (RPI) for each of the next three years leaving your pay seriously lagging behind the rising cost of living for four years. The no compulsory redundancy commitment would only cover the first year and their travel concession is only a discounted rail card which can be bought at any railway station and falls well short of claim for free travel for all.

Having consulted our representatives RMT is strongly recommending members vote NO to reject the company’s proposals as we believe they fall well short of our aspirations. If the offer is rejected, the union will begin the process of balloting members for industrial action.

If you haven’t received your voting paper by now please contact us immediately on the helpline on 0800 376 3706 or by email to info@rmt.org.uk and a voting paper will be posted to you First Class.

Please note: We will not be able to send out replacement papers after Midday Friday 20th March 2015.

USE YOUR VOTE

VOTE “NO” TO REJECT THE OFFER

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash

General Secretary
