City Link union RMT confirmed that there will be a major protest over the collapse of the company at three pm today, 31st December, the day that over 2000 workers and 1000 sub contractors see their livelihoods destroyed by the actions of the greedy speculators who collapsed the operation on Christmas day.
The protest will be at the City Link Coventry hub;
Coventry air park ,Siskin Parkway West ,Bagington ,Coventry CV3 4pa. 1500 hours. 31 december
RMT general secretary Mick Cash said;
"RMT is making it clear again today that the fight for justice for the City Link workforce goes on.
This despicable and callous treatment of an entire workforce by greedy bosses who are able to fold a company on Christmas Day, protect their own money and leave the taxpayer to pick up the redundancy bill exposes the cosy relationship between bandit capitalism and the political elite.
RMT will keep this scandal in the spotlight with the Coventry protest as we battle for our members livelihoods. "
