RMT repeats call for a reversal of cuts to staffing and maintenance as week ends with another round of breakdowns and failures.

Mick Cash, General Secretary, said

"This grim week has ended with another spate of breakdowns and failures on rail and tube which have exposed the fact that our transport services are being starved of investment and are suffering from  years of cuts to staffing and maintenance cuts.
"Those cuts have to be reversed or we will be staring down the barrel of a dire winter for passengers and staff alike.

"If the money being ripped off by the private train companies was pumped into staffing and infrastructure our services would be robust enough to withstand these extra winter pressures. "
