RMT Press Office:
Transport and offshore union RMT today responded to the Government's creation of a single enforcement body for workers' rights.
RMT General Secretary, Mick Lynch commented:
“We need to see more details of the Government's proposals but we are undoubtedly seeing under payment and exploitation level down workers' rights.
“Seafarers, in particular, need better enforcement to protect their jobs and rights but are receiving no protection from exploitative employers, even on cross Channel ferry routes. That needs to change, and fast.”
