RMT responds to Tory public asset fire sale

28 January 2016

RMT Press Office:

RMT responds to news that more public assets were sold off in 2015 than any other year in history.

General Secretary Mick Cash said;

"This is a fire sale of the family silver on an epic scale as the Tories try and plug the growing gaps in their battered balance sheet.

"The plunder of our assets last year outstrips even‎ the great sell off in 1987 at the height of Thatcherism."

"Britain will pay dearly for knocking out our services and strategic assets to the same old spivs and chancers who have destroyed our railways and utilities in the name of private greed.‎"
