RMT responds to total chaos at Brighton Station last night and news of a new pay bonanza in the Southern Rail boardroom.
General Secretary Mick Cash said;
"Brighton station was reduced to total chaos last night after the City marathon due to a wholesale management failure and the news today that there's a continuing pay bonanza in the Southern boardroom will unleash a fresh tidal wave of anger.
"Guards fighting for public safety for the past year have been abused and threatened and its about time this company got its priorities right and got back round the table and negotiated a settlement with the unions that guarantees the second safety-critical member of staff on their trains."
