RMT slams Tory Government as new figures from Press Association show that overseas ownership of UK rail has more than doubled in the past decade
General secretary Mick Cash said
"The UK rail network is being used as a cash-cow by speculative foreign outfits who see us as a money making opportunity with little or no risk involved. Far from taking back control, under Boris Johnson and the Tories you can have any state running the rail network other than the British state unless it's an absolute last resort.
"It is nothing short of a scandal that the latest fare increase to hit Britain's rail passengers will be siphoned off in profits by overseas operators to subsidise their domestic operations. The only solution to this racket is public ownership across the board. "
