RMT suspends East Midlands Railway strike action by ‎Senior Conductors ‎ and Train Managers this weekend but warns of further action later this month if dispute isn't resolved. .

RAIL UNION RMT confirmed today that it has suspended East Midlands Railway strike action by ‎Senior Conductors ‎ and Train Managers this weekend to allow for talks on new union proposals but has warned of further action later this month if dispute isn't resolved.

In a communication to members this afternoon the union says;

"Your Union has constantly been trying to resolve this dispute and we are currently preparing proposals to be put to the company, which we believe will allow for a resolution to be found to the dispute.

"Therefore, the industrial action due to take place at 0001 Hours on Friday 3rd December 2021 and 2359 Hours on Saturday 4th December 2021 is suspended. Members are instructed to work normally, and you should book on for your shifts as normal.

"This is to allow further talks to take place. However, the Union will set out further strike dates for later this month, which will be communicated to members in good time. This is to ensure management negotiate with the Union in good faith and to focus the company’s mind in meeting our demands."
