RMT suspends strike action on ScotRail

3 May 2018

RMT Press Office:

Rail union RMT suspended industrial action at Scotrail planned for Saturday 5th May after the company agreed to halt 22 redundancies of CCTV monitoring staff at Paisley and Dunfermline.

The company agreed that present working practices at Paisley and Dunfermline will remain the same until a joint review is completed scrutinising the volume of work and staffing levels at both locations in order to work towards a permanent resolution to this issue.
RMT general secretary Mick Cash welcomed the victory and congratulated staff for standing firm.
“Ultimately this is and remains a safety issue and further industrial action is planned for next month if a suitable solution is not found,” he said.
