RMT Press Office:
RMT warns that Greater Anglia are risking public safety as they announce strike timetable.
General Secretary Mick Cash said:
“The only way that Greater Anglia can be running these services is through taking serious risks with public safety just as they did during the last phase of strike action. Passengers need to be made aware of that fact.
“It is outrageous that the so-called independent safety regulator, the Office of Road and Rail, appear to have given one of their funders, Abellio, a pass to run unsafe services during the strike action despite finding in RMT's favour over a raft of safety issues last time out.
“Instead of playing these dangerous games Abellio Greater Anglia should be in talks with us addressing the fundamental safety issues at the heart of this dispute.”
