RMT welcomes Select Committee probe into City Link scandal

City Link Union RMT has welcomed the news that the Scottish Affairs Select Committee will begin hearing testimony from union members and officials in Glasgow today and repeats the call for Vince Cable and his department to stop stalling and launch their own full and forensic investigation into the company's collapse on Christmas Day.

General Secretary Mick Cash said.

"Anyone who thought that RMT had given up the fight for justice for City Link workers should think again and that includes Vince Cable and his Government and Jon Moulton and his Better Capital mob. All of the key players should be called to account for their actions.

"RMT is pleased that a Westminster Select Committee is beginning it's own probe into this scandal, starting in Glasgow today. The whole murky business which led to the carefully planned Christmas Day collapse of City Link needs to be dragged under the spotlight. That process starts today and should kickstart the Government itself into launching the full and forensic investigation this scandal requires. "
