Tube union, RMT has welcomed non-foldable e-bikes being banned from London Underground following a long campaign.
Recent fires involving e-bikes with large batteries on the network, have caused safety concerns amongst tube workers and passengers.
Responding to the decision, RMT general secretary Eddie Dempsey said: "We welcome the banning of non-folding e-bikes from the tube network.
"RMT has campaigned for over a year for e-bikes to be banned on London Underground to ensure the safety of tube workers and passengers alike.
"We will be seeking further details on the ban and ensuring the safety of our members on the network going forward."
